Benefits of Therapy

The decision to see a therapist is a very personal one and held in strict confidence. One may choose therapy during times of stress, conflict, or emotional pain for their child or themselves, because one wants to grow and mature, or simply to morph into something other than a repeat of the "same old same old" vicious cycles of the past.

Not knowing the answers to all of life's questions is a normal and healthy admission.
  • Children learn to recognize their feelings. As a result, their challenging behaviors can organically shift into responsible interactions.
  • Parents learn to work through conflicts with contemporary interventions. Children adopt feelings of safety and security through natural consequences, warmth and consistency (steel box, velvet lining).
  • Although difficult, the courageous decision to call a therapist is perceived as a strength, not a weakness. Not knowing the answers to all of life's questions is a normal and healthy admission. In fact, being at the point of throwing up ones hands and admitting one doesn't know is a great place to begin therapy.
  • Inner strength, intuition and self-honesty are gained as the process unfolds and vulnerabilities are met with compassionate understanding.
